Bajuelo paints figures that embrace, fold into and hold one another. Elongated faces, open hands and bodies that fill the whole canvas, built from thick layers of matter and a palette that runs from earthy greys to intense reds, blues and yellows.
The work follows a path that began in Camagüey and continues today in Miami. Recent series such as Inmersión and Confluencias explore the encounter between people: closeness, the weight of the other, and the way two figures can become one.
